tail - fox squirrel tail
abdomen - muskrat dubbing
back - deer hair
rib - tying thread
wing - grizzly hen hackle tips
hackle - brown/grizzly

Part 1


mash barb, start thread at 70% mark (reference point for wing); wrap back to point above barb




clean, stack, measure (shank) some squirrel tail fibers; tie in, smooth butts with thread






dub thread, dub abdomen






clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) some deer hair




tie in, keeping hair on top of abdomen




spiral rib to the bend, then a couple tight wraps to flare the tips; return crossing wraps to 70% mark, tie off, trim, smooth with thread
