I mailed 12 CDC Foam Bugs out on May 22nd. It looks like the Post Office has ripped me off again. Last month, I had to tie 36 flies just to get 12 through. I have complained to the Postal Inspector for the region, but apparently, it was in vain. In addition to 8 sets of flies, I lost several EBay purchases, and a few money orders through the mail in the last 6 months.

I don't have enough CDC to tie another set to send, and I can't afford to send them by UPS, and Fed Ex every time. I see little choice but to drop out, so that I will not hold up any other swaps...at least until the USPS gets this sorted out.

I have enjoyed all the swaps through the years. I wish you all the best.

Thank you, Joel, for keeping SOTM alive these past few years. It Is an FAOL tradition. Per our conversation I will be coordinator for the balance of the year. We can take a vote or volunteers for the coordinator next year when we organize for 2015. I do not blame anyone for leaving the swap as I have thought about it several times. But, I remember some of the people I have met participating and I think I would miss it very much. Your situation is so strange I see no alternative for you. So, unless someone objects we'll finish up the year and reorganize in December.

Anyone wishing to join for the balance of this year is welcome.

I owe everyone an apology.

If I'm still allowed to show my face around here without someone grabing a rope and you still want them, the May flies are tied and will be in the mail when the post office opens Monday. The June and July flies will also be mailed Monday.
