    Default H&H reel seat question

Probably a dumb question, but you guys are getting used to my dumb questions by now.

Finally started looking over my kit. Has the Pacific Bay U3 reel seat with insert. There's a metal butt plug that fits into the locking device. So what do I do to keep it in there?

So what am I missing? (not the rod kit -*Me*?)

yes, epoxy will hold it where it belongs. Just in case-- before you apply epoxy to the handle, or reel seat, be sure you skuff the blank area that will be covered with some fine steel wool or something like 400 grit sandpaper. Do the same where the buttcap meets the reel seat. If you don't, you may not get the bonding you want. Allyn

    Okay - Thanks Kev -

the loose metal to metal fit didn't seem too conducive to epoxy. Suppose by the time it adheres to the end of the blank it will hold. Gonna look really ugly if it falls out of there.

Actually it (epoxy) will work quite well and if you ever need to remove it, a little heat does the trick. Now if you want to put it there to stay....J B Weld
