When I worked for Starwood hotels, their timeshare operation in Orlando had tons of water with tilapia and other fish in it, but a no fishing rule. It used to run me nuts.

I went to the Cocoplum waterway today, I hadn't been there in a few weeks, fishing has been too good closer to home. It looks like they recently sprayed the shoreline with defoliant again. I always hate to see that it certainly puts the bass bite off.
Just wonderin', since I've bought Tilapia fillets in the store for eatin' purposes, are the ones you catch the same and do you ever eat them?

I wouldn't put a bunch of money on this being the law BUT, from my recollection of articles past I think it against the law to release a tilapia back to the water in TX. Same with a snakehead in some areas.
I lived in Southern Africa for 63 years and ate plenty of wild Tilapia and can assure you the table fare which are hatchery bred here do not taste the same, wild fish are awsome eating, have a taste of thier own.
