Took the flies out for a quick test-drive yesterday. Figured it was a little late for Quill Gordons, then this guy paid a visit

It has been a weird, delayed spring and to tell the truth, even though they're streambred browns, the fish aren't all that picky (especially in early spring) so I tied one on, greased it up and jumped in

    3 casts later

Picked up a few more, nothing big but all on top; never had to change flies and it floated like a champ. Saw a few mayflies but never got close enough to ID; could have been Hendricksons and me fresh out of urine-burned vixen fox fur. Happy times.

    Regards,
    Scott
