    Default Heddon line weight

    Could someone please let me know what line weight would be used on a Heddon Bamboo rod #17-9'-21/2
    The letters on the rod are fhch or d

    The HCH would indicate 7 wt, and I'm guessing the F is for floating.

    Just to add a little more ... the HCH is specifically a double taper 7wt. designation, and the "d" means a level or un-tapered 6wt. like was often the case for old silk lines.
