    Default Shad

Even with the latest dusting (2") of snow and water temps in the mid 40s (about 12-15 degrees low), I spotted a cormorant on one of the local ponds, which means the shad run on the Potomac and upper Chesapeake can't be too far off.

    Scott

    Hey Scott,
I had an e-mail (shad report#1) from TU and the first Hickory has been caught....not on a fly though.... Someone using that other method! It has been so windy I have not been able to go test cast my new boo rod. Got to find out what line works best on it. Local pond just thawed enough to have clear, ice free water. Have considered asking the rec center if I can use the gymnasium for an hour or so. Going to our cabin in WVa for the weekend....first trip up there since January 1st. Doubt conditions there will be much better though.

    regards,
    Gerri

    Gerri,

Excellent news. Looks like we're going to get a break in the weather so things should start happening.

    Regards,
    Scott
