Interesting that Lewis/Shoshone lake trout, which originally came from Lake Michigan, have been used to help re-stock that Great Lake, where the laker population was severely depleted by over-fishing and sea-lamprey predation. Ironically, only a few miles away, lakers are considered a scourge in Yellowstone Lake, where they, along with whirling disease, have had an enormous impact on the Yellowstone cutthroat population; attempts to exterminate them in Yellowstone Lake have met with limited results, at best.
