    Default Potter's Opal Trude SBS

Neat little attractor; seems to share a lot of DNA with the Stimulator (and Scott Sanchez' Speed Stimi). Legs would probably be cool, too.

    hook - Dai Riki 320 #16
    thread - UTC 70 brown
    rib - xsmall silver wire
    abdomen - medium tinsel opal
body hackle - undersize by 1 (barred cream used here)
    wing - Congo Hair white
    thorax - peacock herl
    hackle - brown

    Part 1

mash down barb, attach thread at 60% mark

tie in ribbing and wrap back to bend

return to 60% mark and tie in tinsel; wrap tinsel to bend and back and tie off

prep hackle and tie in (barred cream here because I happened to have one just the right size on the bench; use whatever color pleases you)

wrap hackle to bend, trap with ribbing, then spiral ribbing up through hackle to 60%, helicopter end and tie off (note - you can skip the rib if you don't think any fish will bite, but then what's the point in tying this?)

    Part 2

tie in a clump of Congo Hair (or whatever synth wing material you prefer); don't worry about length, you'll trim it up later

    tie in hackle

tie in peacock, twist around thread for reinforcement (see note on ribbing); wrap thorax and tie off

    wrap hackle through thorax

tie off, trim hackle, trim wing (gap width past bend) half hitch x 2, SHHAN

    Regards,
    Scott

    cheech,

X2. Got it from Charlie Collins a few years ago; great stuff, kinda like a washed out cree.
