Default Pardon my exuberance, but.........Marc Petijean Vise

    Hi,

I am quite excited today. My Petijean vise arrived in the mail today. I would like to share a few photos and a description of the vise with you.

I admit that I am a vise-aholic. I have owned a number of vises over the years, But, this, and tying/flyfishing are my only vices.
Well, that is one of my rationalizations. I have others.

Anyway, this is how the vise arrived.......in the padded travel case.

    I
nside the case are: The vise itself, an aluminum heavy base, an alignment tool and 3 tube fly mandrels, instructions, and an instructional dvd.

    T
he base has several cut-out ports to hold hooks, beads, etc. One corner foot has a leveling screw which makes even an uneven table, stable.

    T
he vise itself with the included alignment tool to assist with adjusting the jaws pitch to ensure true rotary axis alignment of the hook shank.

    H
ere the vise is on my cluttered table with a hook in the jaws.

    I
f anyone would like, I could post a review of its use after a few days. At this point, I can say it is one of the smoothest rotating vises I have ever had. It has a ball bearing housing for the rotary function...I am pretty sure. I have had other ball bearing vises before, but the jaws and particularly the jaw arm were heavier and did not rotate as smoothly.

I am not sure this will replace my Jvice, but I have been intrigued for a long time about this vise. I have "played" with one in shops, but never had much time to work on it.

If you would like a full review of its functionality, let me know and in a few days, I will provide one.

Thanks for putting up with my excitement of a new tool!
