my wife makes a very similar protein bar sans the chocolate chips and flax seed (although those are great additions I'll suggest to her). She doesn't bake hers so I'm interested to try that.I always carry a bar or two in my briefcase in case I can't get to lunch. Great with coffee in the morning.

Are those kinda like the no bake cookies? just heated on the stove or?

I think the flax seed is what make the bar a great one. You got to be careful though when buying ground flax seed. Some places want $12 for a bag, but at Walmart it's only $3.00 for the same size bag, same stuff.. different brand though, but who cares

Cold trout left over from last night's campfire, caught yesterday and bonked on the head.

no bake at all. after mixing, she just spreads them into a glass pan ,uses a pizza cutter to divide them into bars. makes about 28 per pan. Will definitely try the flax seed.

Never had cold trout, but leftover bream from the evening before with black coffee does quite well when camped on south Mississippi creeks deep in the swamps of the Pascagoula River.
