Harbor Freight sells some small scales in various weight capacities for less than $10.
You need the line scale that ducksterman provided the link to. I have it and it is very easy to use and works great. You will love it!

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.
Thanks all!
I will order the Umpqua...exactly what I was looking for!
When you can arrange your affairs to go fishing, forget all the signs, homilies, advice and folklore. JUST GO.
I mark my lines with a black Sharpie abour a foot from the end of the line. One small black ring for a one weight, two for a 2 weight etc. For a 5 wt and above, I use a broader mark for a 5. A six weight would have one broad mark and one narrow mark. Works for me.
I mark my fly lines wth a marker just like oldster does and it is such a joy to pick up a rod or a spool of used line in storage and just look at the marks and know for sure what weight it is.
