I am thinking of some early spring largemouth. Has anyone else tried using something like this. My inspiration was the Gulley Worm.

I haven't.... but I bet ya something will eat it!
The Green Hornet strikes again!!!
I tied one in black and a big bass took it away from my buddy. I most often use rabbit zonker streamer-leeches
Looks good. Might try using a small dumbbell in place of the bead so it will ride upright and minimize hangups.
Is there a hook in the trailer? If not I'd add one. Looks great!
There is only one hook, about a size 4, I did add a weedguard from some stiff mono, but the barbell eyes are a good idea. I am thinking of black version with a red or yellow "fire tail" using the term from plastic worms. I have some large bead chain, I may use that, it's about as heavy as small barbell eyes. I think I will skip the stinger hook because of hang up potential where I will be fishing it.

I do not claim to a "good" bass fisherman, fly or hardware. However, last Spring, I caught several LMBs on some size 12 Bead Head Scuds in orange, and a burnt orange Wooly Bugger.
