Hm Larva?

I've been tying midges tonight, but got tired of squinting to see them lol...so I made something a little bigger and is what I guess, some type of larva?
Any tips or improvements you guys have for this fly would be greatly appreciated.




Materials:
Silver tungsten bead (3/32)
Hook #14 Scud
Black vinyl rib (Medium)
Silver wire (Small) (Wire wrapped over vinyl rib)
Antron Dubbing (Hares Ear and Black mixed)
Pheasant Tail for the legs
8/0 Uni Thread (Red)

Looks like a Zebra on steroids; should fish just fine. If you want it a little thinner, use black wire instead of vinyl; 2-wire bodies make a cool effect.

Nicely tied. There are some large midges (#14 and bigger) although I believe they are mostly a lake fly. Your fly could also work as a caddis pupa or larva, an aquatic beetle larva, or various other immature bugs.

It needs to be soaked in water on the end of a thin monofilament line. Let the real critics give you their opinion.

I'm excited to try it out. Hopefully in the next week or so I'll get to wet a line again and see if the trout find it to their liking.
