Default Need Info - Umpqua Tyger Tipped Steel Leader

    Hey folks!

Looking for info/reviews on Upqua Tyger Tipped Steel Leader. Thinking of grabbing one for a MN excursion for Mr. Pike.

Anybody tried it? Also with these, I get the impression that you tie the fly right to the leader, no tippet. Do I follow?

I have not tried one of these, but it looks like you should be able to tie your fly directly to the wire tippet on this leader. I found the TyGer Leader website where they show the recommended way to attach your fly, either fusing the wire sheath or a 2-turn clinch knot.

I have used similar stainless steel leader wire and the knotable stuff, like TyGer, is much easier to use than the single strand wire. I have bought the knotable wire on a spool and just attached it to my mono leaders with an Albright knot.

    Have fun with the pike!
