Had snow in southwest MS Thursday and part of Friday. Coldest weather I remember in years. When weather is decent in the 40s wind is blowing so hard don't think I could bring fly rod forward much less get any line to go any distance. Just think in July and August we will be complaining how hot it is. lol mathcarver

My wife is from MI. She keeps trying and trying to get me to move back. I have to constantly remind her that she doesn't really like how much time I spend fishing here in OK. If we move back up there, she'd never seen me! Freaking little-bitty lakes just screaming to be explored with my kayak EVERYWHERE..........

Now Here in Ft Worth it has been cold as can be, but it keeps warming up to the 70's a few days later. Just wait a while and it'll change again, right!lol. Still went out last week and worked over a small creek that always has a few in it and they just weren't interested. Guess I'll have to wait a bit yet. Try tying it helps.

Currenly in Minnesota the low temperature is a minus 26 degrees F with a windchill making it a minus 52 degrees F. The odds of a early spring is be sometime in May, just like last year...

Just south of Winnipeg a Natural Gas Line has just broken causing a giant fire ball, and two other Natural Gas Lines have also be shut down...

These three line bring Natural Gas to North & South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa...

We have be asked to reduce our house temperature to 60 degrees F ...

Better get out the "Longjohns" do not know how long until we can return our house temperatue to 70 degrees F ...

My dad's best buddy from WWII was a farmer from Laverne, MN. Back when long distance phone calls were a big deal they would talk once or twice a year. Later on they got to visiting each other for a week or so at a time. Alvin lost a finger harvesting corn when it was 20 below. I always want to ask him if it just froze and broke off or if he got it in the corn picker (which I assumed was the case.) Grand Casino was my client when they were based in Minneapolis and decided they wanted me to make safety audits of their MN casino in January. It really help me appreciate living in the south.

Plenty of warm water here in Florida! Matter of fact, it's always warm here, up to the point of feeling like you are wading into a bathtub when summer rolls around... Got to 81 here today, but was in the 30's at night last week.

My wife and I just came back from Lake of the Woods. We caught a few walleye and sauger, but night time temps hovered between -35 and -40 and the wind was clipping along at about 45 mph. One did not venture far from the fish house!

Low 20's here on the Miss. coast. Low 20's??!! Ice everywhere and not expected to warm up till Thursday. Don't laugh at us. We have zero cold weather equipment, i.e. sand trucks, etc. We're stuck inside for a while.

Our cabin in WVa has temps at -13. I am just hoping that the gills, perch and bass in our pond are going to live. Max depth at the deep end is 10 ft. I do not know when it has been this cold up there before.
