    Default LOF Pheasant Tail SBS

Howard Cole's flash-bodied PT variation. A good general attractor, this thing works real well on the swing as a caddis emerger, (especially on those evening hatches). LOF - Lots of Flash

    hook - Mustad 3906B #14
thread - UTC 70 wood duck
    tail - pheasant tail barbs
body - Krystal Flash mixture (rootbeer, pearl, orange, chartreuse used here)
    bead - 3mm silver
    hackle - hen pheasant

    Part 1

mash barb, slide bead onto hook

start thread and wrap back to bend

take a clump of pheasant tail fibers, measure for length (hook shank)

tie in and smooth with thread wraps; you want the bead to sit about 1 hook eye width back from the eye so you have space to wrap the hackle

take an assortment of KF and tie in

twist the KF into a rope, wrap forward to bead, tie off (half hitch x 2) and coat with Sally; snug bead against body

    Part 2

restart thread in front of bead

    prep feather

tie in, sweep fibers back while wrapping forward

    trim, whip and SHHAN

    different KF, different look

    Regards,
    Scott
