Although I haven't spent a lot of time looking at August, I have noticed that there is a problem with every calendar I've ever seen.
There are never enough Saturdays in July. I think there should be about 50, but there's always only 4 or 5. And when that time of year comes, it usually feels like there are only one or two.
On a more serious note, wouldn't there be 5 Fri/Sat/Sun every August where the 1st is a Friday? And wouldn't that happen, on average, every 7 years? Can someone tell me why the number is actually 1 in 823? As Silver Creek points out, there are 7 months with 31 days, and approximately one of them has the 5 Fri/Sat/Sun combination every year. What makes August special? Maybe it's the internet?
