Probably won't be the last we hear from Mr. Kennedy, but good news nonetheless.

Nice follow-up piece. Of course, this silver lining has a cloud, as Mr. Kennedy immediately filed an appeal; all the persistence, obstruction and obfuscation that money can buy.

Sounds like Mr. Kennedy is trying to import the Georgia stream laws (which I think suck) to the West. BTW, he's not a native Southerner, he's originally from Ohio.

Geez, my family's from Ohio. If I ever become a billionaire/land baron, I hope I don't develop his tendencies.

Allow me to be technically corrected, he was born in Hawaii: Born in Honolulu, Hawaii,[2] the son of Barbara Cox Anthony and airline executive Stanley C. Kennedy, Jr. His maternal grandfather was James M. Cox, the 46th and 48th governor of Ohio, newspaper publisher and broadcaster.

He is living off his ancestors work.

Yeah, welcome to Illinois where the water and the streambed belong to the landowner and if it doesn't haul interstate commerce, read "barges and tugboats" it is nonnavigable water and off limits to canoers unless access is granted by said landowner.
Separate your observations from your preconceptions. See what is, not what you expect.
