    Default Old & Broken

Well i just got the bad news from Sage. My 1st build a 3wt GII LL was broken just above the ferrule. Unfortunately it was built on a blem blank (12 yrs ago) and they don't have parts for it anymore. Anyone have a source or suggestion as to how to get a replacement tip section for something that old?

The only problem I can see with this solution, is never being able to stop building them once you get started! And it doesn't "help" that H&H has such good prices and service!

I had a similar experiance with a 4wt rod of mine, not matching parts. I was however able to repair it using the following instructions as a guide........

I used pieces salvaged from other broken rods and fitted the broken area with a sort of splint, and wrapped with thread. The repair shows, but the Rod casts as well as ever. I'm glad to have a favorite rod back!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess my original post wasn't very clear to anyone but me. The rod was "MY" first build.I have since built others and do enjoy it. I was hoping with all the networking and relationships here, someone somewhere might have a tip section for this model. I already have another 3wt.rod but this one was great for a loaner / learner and had sentimental value because it was so ugly. Rich
