    Default Clearwater Spey Rods

    New from Orvis.
Anybody out there get a chance to try in advance?

I'm thinking about the 5 or 6 weight for smallies.

I haven't tried them, but I can't imagine that they're not a good bang for the buck. If I buy another spey rod I'm certainly going to consider a Clearwater, as I've decided it's not worth paying big bucks for a fly/spey rod. My two cents.

Like Randy, have not had a chance to cast one yet, but have talked with folks who have and they are very impressed by the price point versus the performance. One comment was that the smaller spey rod makers should be very worried, if they come out as cheap as the scuttlebutt surmised. We'll see...
