    Default Sally Hansen uv topcoat

Anyone ever use this? I'm looking for alternatives to building up glossy heads on streamers (currently using multiple coats of Hard as Nails) and this looks interesting.

3 coats of SHHAN (probably one more to go)

    Regards,
    Scott

Do you mean putting SHHAN over the a UV base? If so, I put it over the UV stuff when I use it so it isn't sticky. Anyway, the fly looks great!!

Nice build up and looks good. Seems to be the same price as the SHHAN so the UV topcoat should last longer, although I never had any problems with the hard as nails neither. Do you think the UV will coat the thread with less coats.

I guess if the UV stuff was still tacky I'd either coat it with Sally or try wiping with de-natured alcohol.

    Ronnie,

That's what I was hoping for. Not that I'm going to save that much time since I'm just playing around with streamers and won't be going into mass-production.

    Thanks for the suggestions folks.

    Regards,

Googling "sally Hansen UV top coat" I found a product that appears to be part of a french manicure kit. Is that the product you are curious about? I'm not sure but it looks like it may be a UV resistant coating rather than a UV cured product.

As Jayatwork points out, it is just another nail product. I cheat and make my heads with black acrylic (model) paint and 5 minute epoxy. Quick, no fuss, and indistinguishable from the laboriously coated heads of the more patient, at least to my eye. YMMV.
