SOMETHING FOR NOTHING (from the archives)
There are certainly exceptions to every rule; Fly Anglers OnLine (FAOL) is free.
You are welcome to share information you find here, to print out fly patterns, the instructions from various Fly Tying series and have them for your own use ? or for your club's newsletter (provided you give us proper credit) and you may also use them for a fly tying or rod building class. However; here's the 'but': if you are doing the classes for profit you can't use the material. As long as it's free, feel free to use it.

I share your pain, LadyFisher. I am also a free-lance writer, and I see unauthorized copies and excerpts from my articles all over the web. I have given up trying to make them take them down. There is just too many. In many cases, the work is done as a work-for-hire through Elance, and the client will own the copyright. Most of the time, they don't care as long as the other website provides backlinks to their site. There is little I can do about it.

You do a great job with the site. FAOL is not just another website....it's a community. Keep up the good work.
