    To bobbyg,
    thank you so much for posting the Pflueger info. It was very interesting and answered most of my questions. One thing about the Pflueger family and I don't if the family is one and the same, but in Florida, one of the largest saltwater species taxidermy
    companies is Pflueger. They did a superb job of mounting a 12ft trophy blue marlin that my husband caught off the coast of Hatteras, North Carolina.

    This isn't perfect. I pushed the pin back and rotated the pawl so it did not make contact (turned so shortest part rests against spring). The heavier tension is gone when retrieved RH, BUT, the tension is the same no matter which way the reel is wound. The pin is easily pushes back with a drift/punch and a light tap with a hammer.

    Here's a pic of the way I have the pawls set up. Sorry it is out of focus.
