Not my cup of tea, but the Southeast Fly Fishing Forum (?) may have something of interest to you.
When you can arrange your affairs to go fishing, forget all the signs, homilies, advice and folklore. JUST GO.

Middle Tennessee has 18 "Permit Lakes" maintained by the TWRA. Boat ramps and picnic areas, some even have campgrounds. If you are under 65 the permit is 40+ $ per year or $5 a day, over 65 it's free. Bream, LMB, SMB and Catfish. The TVA Lakes are also well stocked. If you do any wade fishing the Duck River is a great warm water fishery, you can still catch Walleye up by Normandy Dam.

Afterward you can stop for lunch or dinner at the River Caf? for some first class BBQ (Jesse knows BBQ) served by some real Southern beauties.

Thanks Jesse, I forgot about the River Caf?! It's right on the way to the Duck River, Normandy Lake and Bedford Lake. On Saturdays you can even pick up a box lunch to enjoy later.
