Default Sage Xi2 vs Winston BII-MX

    Hello
I have been using the Sage Xi2 9' 9wt with a RIO 9wt Outbound (375 grains) for stripers in Narragansett Bay and have been pleased with that combination (recommended by a FAOL member). I had a chance to lawn cast a Winston BII-MX 9' 9wt with the RIO line. Based on that limited use, the Winston seemed to be much lighter in the hand and cast with a great deal more ease! Wonder if any one can verify/provide insight.
    Thanks Dave

Dave, sorry to take so long to respond. I've fished both and tend to favor the Sage. I'm a big fan of the green rods, but find the Xi2 has more "oomph" in the mid section, which I like when fighting tougher salt water species. The BII may feel easier to cast due to that. Fact is they are both excellent rods. I don't think you'll go wrong either way.
