    Default Drake

    Many feathers on a mallard, drake and hen, are under utilised in my mind. Here is one possible use for the mallard drake copper colored throat feathers.





    Drake
    Hook: Kamasan B175 #12
    Thread: Benecchi 12/0, black
    Hackle: Mallard drake copper throat
    Body hackle: Whiting Farms Coq de Leon, medium pardo
    Rib: Wire, silver fine
    Body: Embroidery yarn, chestnut
    Tail: Mallard drake copper throat barbs
