Thread: Warmwater Guy Fishes For Trout

Default Warmwater Guy Fishes For Trout

I took Monday off work this week to flyfish a nearby 22-acre lake that was recently stocked with trout.
    I fished from 9am to 3:45pm.

I found some fish right away, and caught 30 in the first hour. The action slowed after that. I moved to a different location
and spent the rest of the day there. It was pretty steady. I used mostly Woolly Buggers...beadheads and unweighted, a variety of colors (black, white, copper, brown, olive/black). Just about everything caught fish. I ended up catching a total of 107 Rainbow Trout and 1 Smallmouth Bass before I decided to quit.

Now that is what I would call a great day.

Those are some pretty nice stockers. That's not fishing that catching. I have had one day like that in my life bream fishing, it sure is fun.
