    Default semi automatic fly reell

unfortunately, Only Dan Bailey services Vivarellis in North America. I recommend you tell your story to them. They should help you. They have helped me when I've had minor problems with my reel. I have used both reels you mentioned. Did you know that the Thinkfish Bold has a 2 year no fault warranty. Aless costly reel is the Italian made ATP 37 graphite. it has 8 drag settings and is very similar to the Vivarelli. It cost about $150.00 and comes with 2 spools.

A PM was sent to me but I'm unable to send a reply to the sender.

That's a different animal than a semi-automatic. A semi-automatic is what I call a level action, in reality a regular fly reel with a ratcheting device that allow retrieving the line by pumping the lever. I have never seen an automatic, like your Martin or a Perrine that had much of an adjustable drag system or room for backing.
