Default Man, I love 'hopper season....

I was out for a little walk in my neighborhood this morning, and found a freshly-dead grasshopper, still soft and flexible. It's probably the biggest 'hopper I've even seen.

I normally tie my hoppers on a size 8, 3xl hook, with the abdomen and wing about twice as long as the hook. This thing is easily 1 1/2 times bigger that what I normally tie, if not twice as big. I'd probably need, what, a 1/0 or 2/0 hook for this pattern? LOL.

    That's a lot of hopper.
