Default Bob Jacklin's Little Yellow Stonefly Pattern

Bob Jacklin of West Yellowstone is one of my favorite fly tiers. While in his shop in West this summer, I bought some of his personally tied patterns to use as samples. When I left the shop, he came out to me on the sidewalk and gave me this new pattern of his for a small yellow stonefly.
He was quite proud of the pattern and I think deservedly so.

Bob is one of my favorite tiers. I had the privilege of chatting with him a while this year while in West Yellowstone at his shop. He's a great guy, his patterns are classics and are highly effective. Byron - that's a very well tied Stone and sure to catch a bunch, Doug.

Thanks Doug, but it is actually the sample Bob tied and gave to me.
    How's the fishing?

Fishing was good out West. A little off from years past but we still managed to find enough fish to keep us happy. I'm home in NY now, hopefully awaiting a good run of Steelhead's and Brown's from Lake Ontario into our local tributaries. Last year I was recovering from knee surgery and could not bowhunt or fish till mid-November... This year I've got some home remodeling to do but still hope to get out a couple of times to chase the Steelheads...
