Hit the false albacore run right and you'll never be the same; standing up in the bow, watching albies crash balls of bay anchovies, bait flying everywhere, birds diving, laying a cast in that turmoil, feeling the thump of a strike and then watching the line and backing disappear in a tunny melt - nothing else even comes close.

Harker's Island is the center of a lot of the fishing but you can get there from your base. 1st weekend in November, Tom Earnhart hosts (at least he used to; think it's still happening) a pig roast at his house in Harker's that is definitely worth going to.
