    Hans, another big wink in Tom Ivans direction is probably in order. Change the gold tag for a silver one and you have a Black and Peacock Spider.

    Many winks, all round. Closer to a Cochy, though. The Ivans pattern I would tie with a longer, more sparse hackle.

    I agree 100% with this: "Wow! Nice quality peacock."

    The real question is: Is it the quality of the peacock or is it the way the "master tyer" prepared, tied in and wrapped the peacock? Or is it a little of both?

    Whatever, it is a beautifully tied fly!

    No tier can grow the length of the flue at time of wrapping. Herl selection is a big part of it.
