    Default Mentality of the Fisherman

Yesterday I went fishing in a small creek on forest land. I fished about 300 yards off a paved road. While fishing I never saw another angler on the creek or even the sign of any previous anglers. I did see about a dozen rigs pulling boats go by going to a lake of planters. I managed to catch about 30 brookies and had a nice day. Makes a guy wonder.

    Tim,

You need to think of boaters like I think of golfers, they don't get in your way when you go to fish a stream.

Nice looking stream. Too small to water ski in tho. You're lucky they didn't stop.
I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim

Looks like my vision of heaven - be happy you didn't have company (and, if you want company PM me the name of the creek! I'll be in Klamath Falls in a couple weeks!) Cliff

It does make you wonder at times. There are a few smaller lesser-known creeks that a person will pass on their way to a local "fly fishing only" stretch. I always do very well on them. Often I will pull into the special reg areas and see guys crammed on the water, only to turn around and hit the smaller water and have a banner day all by myself.

Cliff. I waited until I was sure my trip to Utah was on. Family business but maybe I can get a little fishing in. Sorry I won't be able to go out with you. About my little creek. It is actual a river called the Sycan and the picture was taken about 5 miles from the headwaters. The Sycan and many other small creeks can be found in the Fremont. Most have brookies but they are small. A 10 incher is above average.
If you decide to go that picture was taken about 1/2 mile down stream from the Hanan/Sycan camp ground. Another place that is good is just down stream from Lee Thomas Camp Ground on the North Fork of the Sprague River. You can locate these on your computer. They are about 80 miles northeast of K Falls.

    Sorry & Good luck.

Thanks Tim, I've never fished the Sycan but I will have a look next time I'd down that way! All the best, Cliff
