Unfortunately the Soyokaze rods are no longer available, but there are a number of other Seiryu and Keiryu rods available that will fill the this same kind of nitch. There are probably as many definitions of what constitutes a small stream as there are small stream anglers out there. The small stream photographed in this article I would classify as a medium sized small stream. But never the less, the author found the 9 foot long Soyokaze rod to be highly effective in fishing this stream and much better suited to the stream and its fish than his 13.5 foot Amago rod.
