    Default Staying hydrated

About 5 years ago, I blacked out in the locker room, the diagnosis was I was dehydrated from fishing the day before and only drink one bottle of water and a glass of diet Dew. Therefore, I became more aware of taking in fluids (water) when fishing, etc. But I like my water cool if not cold. A couple of weeks ago I came up with an idea that is very basis and low cost. Two Koozies will insulate your water bottle and keep it cool for several hours. If I am floating a trout stream I typically tie the bottle to my tube to keep the neck above water level and let the stream keep it cool, for bream and bass it does work that well. Stay hydrated it's better than waking to find yourself face down on the locker room floor. Redneck thermos 1.jpgRedneck thermos 2.jpg

I always take water/gatorade with me now instead of the beer I used to take. Don't drink as much water as I did beer but water doesn't give me a headache either. It is important to stay hydrated out there during the warm weather. Lesson learned.

I learned fishing out west, you drink water or you die. Of course, the exclamation point at the end of the sentence was when I woke up with my face on the locker room because I got dehydrated float tubing in 50 deg. water the day before.

I drink five or six bottles of water a day whether I'm fishing or not. Oh, and I avoid Locker Rooms.Jim
I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim
