I'll be heading to the Sierras next week for a family vacation. I was wondering if anyone has been fishing the waters above Sonora and if so how was it? I hope to make a trek over the Sonora Pass for a day of fishing on the eastern side as well.

Trout don't speak Latin.
Tyrone, If you plan to fish the Eastern side, key up Planettrout, com. That is his stomping ground. He shows patterns and what works in the area.
Tyrone, I will be at Lee Vining on the 19-21. Hopefully there will be more water there than in the Bishop area. Jim
I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim
Crunchy, thank you. I'm working on my brother to make the trip over to the east side. If I do i'll pm planet trout.
Jim, I've been wondering about the water levels with the draught we have had. Plan B is fishing the still waters, but that mean stocked trout - better than no fishing at all.

Tyronefly,
The snow pack this year (water content) is at 27% of normal so most of the streams are running quite low. The EW has been fluctuating between 60cfs (or lower) and 140cfs (yesterday)...depends on what the water lords down in Nevada can get away with without drying up Bridgeport Res. I would give Iim Reid at Ken's Sporting goods in Bridgeport a shout out or check their site. You can also check the DWP site for flows into the system at Crowley and below. I may go up there in July with my daughter Ally but will only be fishing the lakes...
As you can see, the flows are dopping almost everywhere on the Eastern Slope:
