    Default closed cell foam for midge pattern

    I am looking for some closed cell foam for a midge dry fly pattern I want to try. I have the foam craft sheets, but I need something more like a sponge. I imagine a craft store will have something that would work, but on the sites of two major craft stores, a search for closed cell foam does not reveal anything that might work. Any suggestions?

    Bedlam;
    There is a product out there called "Fly Foam" that may be closer to what you are looking for.

    Larva Lace has what you need. It's owned by another company now, but they still have the foam.

    I'm so glad to have that link - the only larva lace foam I have seen in years is black and white, just assumed the rest was gone the way of the dodo bird. It's great stuff.

    You might want to take a look at the Koozies you have around the house, You can cut and stretch that, at least sometimes. Then the gray or white packing foam sheets.

    Hi Bedlam: If you are looking for something "more like a sponge" are you sure you want a closed cell foam? Almost all craft and fly tying foam sheet is closed cell for floatation.
