My grand dad used to save all the innards, heads and waste matter after cleaning any fish he and my dad caught and they went into his garden as fertilzer. He'd plant a little bit in the rows of corn and use more in various parts of his garden. It worked great and he did this for many years. Couldn't wait for the garden to mature and shuck some corn; but, he said the best way is to get the corn into a pot of boiling water within 20 minutes of picking it to avoid the starch in it turning to sugar. Don't know if that's true or not but his corn was always top notch.
