Default Anyone try Hook & Hackle's xt51 rods?

I would like to make a 9', 8wt rod for surf and bass and wondered if anyone has any experience with the xt51 kits. Dan Craft is another option and he has 9'6" blanks which would also suit me.
    Thanks,
    Greg

I like the blank. I built my 9' 3-piece 10 weight on one. It is fast, and my blank would probably load better at close distances with a heavier line, but past 30 feet it's a cannon and I couldn't be happier.

Agreed, it's a helluva blank. Fast, fast. Plus, there probably isn't a nicer more helpful person to do business with than Bob at H&H. He is great.

Bob is a great guy , as is Dan , you can't go wrong with either blank . I have built both , and they are both fast, great casting rods . If I had to choose one , I would get the Dan Craft FT............

I have a 6 wt XT-51 and really like it a lot. I just finished building a Dan Craft FT 9' 8wt and have fished it just a couple of times. This is going to be a fantastic rod! Both are excellent blanks.

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like they both make nice rods.
