After reading the whole thread, I think you and Silver agree on the definition of micro-drag:
drag that the fish can see, but the fisherman cannot see.
In common fishing conditions, running water, glare, over 15' away, a fisherman can often barely see the fly, much less detect every bit of drag. The fish can see much smaller drag from a foot away.
How can you say that micro drag doesn't exist?
For that to be true, the fisherman would have to see every bit of detail that the fish sees.
