Alan,
Beautiful flies. Been using them for a while myself and they work very well.
Regards,
Scott
Alan,
I have used them for quite a few years. Have an example from the early 90's on my page at Hans' site.
The dun's body has subdued segmentation - more smooth. That is why I tie the biot with the smooth side facing on these.
But, the emerger has a much more pronounced segmentation and that is when I use the shiny side facing outwards...
Late at the party, Alan, but you are of course more than welcome

I love using biots for bodies. In fact, not a wet fly, but I have been tying up Hans's flavio pattern the past couple of days for when our streams open around here.
I'll catch up one day!
Thanks
A.
I use biots on my wets also. Only because it is a "natural" element of the fly. I realize that you could argue about dubbing, but I mean "natural" as in feathers... It just works better for me.
Love biot bodies, for wets and for dries, great segmentation and so easy to use.
Work is something for people that don't fish.
been using them for years. and most anything that will wrap a hook. tradition is now out the window, nothing stays the same except barbless hooks. I also use tungsten beads on them
