    The Royal Lightning Bug, originated by John Mundinger, is a fun to tie, and proven on the stream, sub-surface attractor pattern.





    Royal Lightning Bug
    Hook: Grip 12804BL #14 (or equivalent 1XL wet fly hook)
    Bead: Tungsten, black 2.3mm
    Thread: Benecchi 12/0, black
    Wing: Krystal Flash, pearl (or chartreuse)
    Body: Peacock herl; flash, red; peacock herl

    Very nicely tied, Hans. Don't hear much from John any more, especially since the Fly Fisherman forum changed format and tanked a few years ago; sad. Anyway, thanks for another great vid.
