Default Rarely ever use foam, but...................

This pattern is in the current Blue Ribbon Flies Newsletter.
Good looking pattern for those who like big foam flies.

Dang Byron, opened the link and it looked like a giant bug was splattered on my windshield! That is one big fly...a great hopper/dropper I would say.

    Thanks for the link!

    Brad,
Primarily, it is a macro shot, but like all foam ties, it is a pretty big fly. Yes, either for a hopper or hopper/dropper, I would think.

On the flipside, I suspect there's a reason BRF is selling it for a dollar. That's probably less than they paid for it (most big nasties like that wholesale for around $14-17/dozen without preseason volume discounts). I know the patterns we put in the closeout bin for a buck might work just fine, but they don't sell for one reason or another or there's another pattern that pushes the same buttons better.

    Walt,
I didn't even notice a price on the fly. The color combinations seemed pleasing to me.
