    absolutely love the handle. i like the shape of it and the contrasting rings. the marbling isn't my style though.. i like a more simple look. looks like fun though. how does the handle fit your hand?

    The handle is a fat little fish, isn't it? It fits my hand perfectly. After fishing it a while, I'll determine if it needs to be narrower.

    I'm going to try a feather inlay on another section of that practice rod (a 6wt that an Alberta trout helped me break, which has been variously holding up tomatos and half buried in a snow bank).

    Oh yeah, I forgot to add that pewter, silver and red are the thread colors I chose for their look with the handle and black blank and Grinnell College colors of Scarlet and Black.

    The marbeling was fun, but the next practice run will be less "busy".

    Not my style, but then again its not my rod either. I like the cork ring bands, as for the marbeling I've seen many rods and seats done with it. Again its a personal choice.
