Thread: any crappie suggestions?

    I just saw another post that said something like, "something a fish might like to eat," but I've got them on Mohair Leeches and even Royal Coachman before. Or was it a different kind of streamer... anyway, Mohair Leeches for sure worked. And I caught a 12" on it last year.

    Crappie are a fun fish to chase and catch so we developed the clown fly for them. Here is a picture.

    if every cast caught a fish, it would be called "catching" not "fishing"

    My goto pattern is the "Mata Crappie". It's all-wire body gets it down fast and it seems to work pretty well. Here are a couple of videos:

    I like this one also... It is easily tied, and incorporates a lot of color to catch the eye of the crappie.
