if every cast caught a fish, it would be called "catching" not "fishing"
Stayner Ducktail is very good - http://www.flyanglersonline.com/feat...kes/part12.php

I have very good luck with the Carter's Sculpin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxc3azavAv8 designed by Carter Nelson while he ran the fly fishing operation at Callaway Gardens here in Georgia. Tied in all black, it's great fro large bream. Tied in bright colors, it work's great for crappie. Jim Smith
I found the you tube presentation a bit difficult to follow. I checked around and found this version which I think is easier to follow. http://www.warmwaterflytyer.com/patterns6.asp?page=12.

Yellow Conehead Marabou Muddler has also worked very well for me.

Chartreuse microjig tied on 1/80 or 1/100 jig head. Under an indicator, you can vary the depth of your presentation and still fish slow...which is exactly how crappies like it!

Clouser minnow with bead chain eyes... pink over white
Mohair leech, black, in a size 10 or 12
Slumpbusters in a size 8 or so
The Green Hornet strikes again!!!
I really like a 6 or 8 straight shank hook, gray petite Estaz, small/short marabou tail, weighted hook shank, and small bead-chin eyes.
Just about any colored zonker moved toward the surface makes them very aggressive. Gray has worked well for me.
Green Weenie. Simple to tye and can be fished dry or wet depending on hook weight and if you apply floatant.
