Woke up Sunday morning to 6-8" of new snow and 30 mph winds. Now, I know you can fish in those conditions, but I ain't gonna...

The problem lies with those who think of "spring" as a season. Wht it is, is a device, usually of metal, in the form of either a leaf, as in a leaf spring which is a flat piece of metal bent into a V or W shape, not a leaf on a tree, or a coil. Used to either return something to a position or retract it from a position. Often used in fly reels in one form or another.

Spring as a season has been highly overrated in 2013.

I just mowed my lawn for the first time this year, guess spring is 'spruning'.

The difference between fly fishing in Kansas and Idaho is the wind. We had gusts up to 35-40mph, and straight wind staying at 20mph. It would have been absolutely miserable. And I ice fish and duck hunt on the coldest days of the year.... so I am far from "fairweather".

This is how "Spring" is viewed by a dear friend of mine.

This is Kansas. Spring will be held between 2pm and 4pm on an otherwise unannounced Tuesday afternoon all else will be a mixture of winter and summer until the temperature reaches 90+ degrees, where it will remain or increase until a point between 2pm and 4pm one day in October (that two hour period is known as "autumn") when the whole thing will repeat itself going the other direction.
