    Default Black Hills

    I managed to get a couple times over the last week. The weather was all over the place. The week started out mild 40's and windy (it is South Dakota), later in the week was amazing weather with temps into the 70's and the weekend was ugly, 4" of snow and a rainy sleety snowy mix.

    Early in the week I did really well with small midge patterns, zebra midges, bubbleback midges and skinny nelsons. As soon as the nice weather hit, the crowds came out and the fish received a ton of pressure to the fishing was rough. I had a Physics 2 exam on Saturday so I didn't make it out on the creek but with the crowds gone the fishing should be decent again.

    Couldn't have come from the Black Hills. Miss Betty has said, most emphatically, that there are no trouts in SD. Much like the wind seldom blows in SD, I suspect...

    Careful there EdD. BigDan is new to the neighborhood and doesn't know not to associate with toads with quesitonable reputations.

    By the way Dan, welcome to the neighborhood. There are a bunch of good guys, hanging out here, some of them are ladies. Also be careful whre you step, you wouldn't want to smash a toad or get something on your shoe.

    Yeah BigDan, I'm a toad. You see Miss Betty, who tells everyone in the world that there are no trout(s) in the Black Hills of SD so nobody has any reason to fishing there, is also known a s Swamp Witch Betty. Now I wasn't always a toad, but, erm, it's like this, well... Just be REAL careful about taking shiny, red apples from her...

    And welcome aboard. And please don't trod on the toads.

    BigDan;
    Miss Betty, her husband Cary, Kaboom1 and I will be in the Black Hill around the middle of September hope we can get a chance to wet a line with you.

    P.S. EdD has been locked in his cubicle too long and tends to babble a lot!!

    Very nice looking trout in that picture.

    One day, I'm going to stop to fish when we drive across South Dakota on our way to Montana, rather than going 75 mph all the time.

    I didn't know the wind ever blew in South Dakota though.
