Can anyone give me the details on this New England pattern?
Hi Ray,
From Trolling Flies for Trout and Salmon:
Cardinelle
Thread: Flourescent red or orange
Body: Flourescent red or orange wool
Underwing: Flourescent red synthetic hair
Overwing: Cerise marabou
Hackle: Longish yellow saddle hackle, collared and tied back
Comment: Despite its gaudy appearance this fly has proved to be occasionally very effective, especially for landlocked and coho salmon. It's also #3 on Dick Stewart's top ten list for streamers in this book.
Regards,
Mark

Don't ever forget FAOL's archives when you are in need of something or looking for a fly pattern. I try to look first here before going anywhere else.......

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.
